A little break–and a big one

August 12, 2011

Ah, summer. It’s been a busy few months of doing rather than writing, but it’s hard to feel guilty about not putting paper to pen when there are so many adventures to be had and fodder to gather for future pieces. I hope to be back to a better writing, reading, and sharing schedule soon. If you’ve been checking this blog for new pieces, I feel flattered and hope you’ll take this suggestion: visit some of the other fabulous poets I’ve had the pleasure of reading and who have been better than I am about going strong through the summer months, including Luke Prater, Julie Watkins, and River. To my fellow poets, I hope to join all of you again soon!

In the meantime, I’m excited to announce that three of my pieces were chosen for a collaboration between writers and artists through, an organization dedicated to promoting artists and charities worldwide in an effort to increase awareness and aid for both. Inspiration Speaks, the first volume of what promises to be an annual publication, is due out in October. A large portion of the proceeds go to benefit ColaLife, which is dedicated to helping remote communities in need. I’ll keep you updated here about the forthcoming book, but for now you can find out more about the project through the Winter Goose Publishing blog and website.
